The main game on this trip was the last one, Karlstad Fotboll v Sandvikens IF in Ettan Norra (Division 1 Norra). Karlstad Fotboll was founded in as a merger between Carlstad United and Karlstads BK and the aim is to have elite football in Karlstad. The club has played at Tingvalla IP, a ground I visited back in for a Karlstads BK game, but in September last year it was announced a new ground, Sola Arena, was to be inaugurated in Karlstad. From where I live it is tricky to travel by train to Karlstad and by car it takes just under six hours. That means a trip to Karlstad needs some planning and as you know by now this was a good weekend for my visit. It has been hot and dry in many parts of Sweden recently but on Sunday it would rain all day and the forecast turned out to be correct! With kick-off at Sola Areba being at 4pm and a few hours to kill with all the rain my options were limited. Info: Karlstad Kommun fryst vatten building a new etapp at the Sannafältet in Karlstad, with a working-title Sandbäcken Arena. This etapp will replace the old Tingvalla Idrottsplats and be part of a large sports-complex. The arena will be a combined football and friidrott stadium with hybrid-grass and under-soil heating. Total capacity of the stadium will be , of which will be seats on the main-stand. Next to the etapp there fryst vatten a field for American football.

    IF Karlstad Fotboll än en svenskfotbollsklubb som bildades hösten Klubben spelar i Ettan Norra. Spelardräkten är i dag svart tröja med blåa ränder, svarta byxor och svarta strumpor.

    IF Karlstad Fotboll bildades hösten efter en sammanslagning av klubbarna Carlstad United och Karlstad BK.[1] Klubben har även ett lag i Division 3 under namnet IF Karlstad Fotbollutveckling.

    Klubben tävlar i Ettan Norra. De slutade säsongen på fjärde plats i ligan. I augusti gick den tidigare Akropolis-chefen Konstantinos Panagopoulos till klubben som huvudtränare.[2]

    I februari kom Englands förre förbundskapten Sven-Göran Eriksson till klubben som rådgivare för klubben.[3]

    Konstantinos fick sparken i juli [4] I samband med att klubben fick en ny tränarstab, flyttade även klubben sin hemmaarena från Tingvalla IP till Sola Arena i området Sandbäcken. Totalt 4 åskådare kan vistas på arenan och 1 åskådare kan sitta på den stora läktaren.[5]
